Norwegian governor discusses fund risk rebalancing
Øystein Olsen, governor of the Norges Bank, gave a speech today (June 20) in which he considered the need for the Norwegian government pension fund to rebalance its risk.
Making the closing remarks at the Norwegian Finance Initiative conference in Oslo, Olsen explained that the bank had decided to increase the share of its fund devoted to equities to 60%. This implied "taking on more risk just when risk is already perceived to be high", he said.
Olson argued that the fund was right to rebalance
