ECB finds eurozone banks not restricting lending

The president of the European Central Bank (ECB), Mario Draghi, today (April 25) said demand for loans "remains weak" in the eurozone.

Draghi was speaking to the European parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs on the same day as the ECB's latest Euro Area Bank Lending Survey was released.

The survey, to which 131 banks responded, showed that while lending conditions had generally eased in the eurozone banking system, net demand for loans from non-financial corporations (NFCs)
