Cœuré calls for greater risk-sharing in eurozone
Benoît Cœuré, executive board member of the European Central Bank (ECB), on April 20 said greater risk-sharing among eurozone countries was essential if the euro is to be put on a "sound and sustainable" financial footing.
Speaking at the European crisis: historical parallels and economic lessons conference at Princeton University in the US, Cœuré said: "The need for policy-makers to foster flexibility and convergence and for national fiscal policy to act responsibly must be taken seriously."
