Lithuanian central bank becomes victim of a cyber attack

A cyber attack hit the functioning of the Bank of Lithuania's website and other online services on January 27.

Information technology specialists at the central bank successfully managed to counter the full effects of the attack, but a spokesperson for the central bank confirmed on January 30 that web-users may have experienced some "inconvenience", for example not being able to connect to the central bank's website, particularly if they were trying to access the page from abroad.
