Bank consults on instruments of macroprudential policy

The Bank of England on Tuesday issued a joint staff discussion paper with the Financial Services Authority to solicit feedback on interim analysis of macroprudential tools available to the new Financial Policy Committee (FPC).

"Over the coming months, the interim FPC will undertake further analysis of potential tools, taking into account the comments it receives on this paper," the document states.

The Committee plans to use its March meeting to reach a judgement on the permanent FPC's initial
