Ireland’s Honohan on risks of increased globalisation
Patrick Honohan, governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, on August 12 discussed the advantages and risks of a more globalised world economy.
At the Gilman Rutihinda Memorial Lecture in Tanzania, Honohan said Ireland's increasing globalisation in the 1980s and 1990s both helped lift the economy from decades of under-performance, and demonstrated its new ability to generate full employment and compete effectively at the production frontier.
He said that while this helped achieve rapid living
