Interview: Andrew Tyrie
Andrew Tyrie is the chairman of the Treasury Select Committee, which is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority, along with HM Treasury, HM Revenue & Customs and associated public bodies. He was appointed chairman in 2010, and before that was a member of the committee.
Before becoming an MP, Tyrie worked as an adviser to the then chancellors of the exchequer, Nigel Lawson and John Major
