Supervision of Israel’s housing market paramount: Fischer

Stanley Fischer, the governor of the Bank of Israel, on Tuesday said financial supervision must remain vigilant over risks to the mortgage-lending industry in Israel.

At the annual conference of the Association of Banks in Israel, Fischer said: "Financial supervision generally, and Israel's banking supervision particularly, must remain vigilant." This applied to "the banking system generally and the mortgage-lending industry specifically," he said.
