Bank of Korea: bank lending picks up in July
The Bank of Korea's Financial Markets report for July 2010, published on Tuesday, showed that bank lending in South Korea's corporate sector had increased by 0.6% in July, after a 0.4% decline in June.
The central bank said lending to the corporate sector increased by W3.2 trillion ($2.6 billion), or 0.6%, in July after a W1.9 trillion decrease in June. A large part of the rise owed to a pick up in lending to large corporations which was up W2.1 trillion, or 2.5%, in July after a W0.4 trillion
