Lending in Japan remains subdued: BoJ survey

The Bank of Japan's July Survey on Bank Lending Practices at Large Japanese Banks, published on Wednesday, showed that lending by Japanese firms weakened in the month.

The survey asked 149 senior loan officers 13 questions on the demand for loans and the quality of loans issued. The results suggest that while some areas sectors of the economy are showing signs of improvements, lending continues to remain bleak in most areas of the economy.

The report showed that 26% of respondents thought demand
