Mnyande on Sarb’s mandate and financial stability

Monde Mnyande, an adviser to the governor and the chief economist at the South African Reserve Bank, last week stressed the importance of the central bank's work on financial stability.

Speaking in Johannesburg last Wednedsay, Mnyande noted that in February Pravin Gordhan, South Africa's finance minister, had re-emphasised the importance of a stable and well-regulated financial sector, as well as the need for Sarb to establish an in-depth understanding of the banking sector and financial system
