Controversial ‘audit the Fed’ amendment stirs blogosphere
Support for a provision to audit the Federal Reserve is gathering momentum in the US Senate, ahead of a possible vote on Thursday.
The amendment was proposed on Tuesday by Bernie Sanders, an independent senator for Vermont. Sanders proposed the regulatory reform bill being debated in the chamber include a provision for the Government Accountability Office to audit the central bank more thoroughly.
Under his proposal, the Fed would have to submit information on monetary "deliberations, decisions
