BoE’s Bailey: Europe to work on resolution regimes

Continental Europe needs to do more on resolution regimes, said Andrew Bailey, the executive director for banking services and chief cashier of the Bank of England.

Bailey said he supported the recent European Commission consultation calling for EU countries to adopt resolution regimes. He also said that progress in this field was more likely if member states agreed on how national regimes could fit together to deal with international banks, rather than trying to devise an international
