UAE’s banks liquid since April: Al-Suwaidi
Support packages put together by the government and the central bank improved the liquidity situation of domestic banks as early as April 2009, said Sultan Bin Nasser Al-Suwaidi, the governor of the Central Bank of United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Al-Suwaidi noted that in October 2008 the cabinet guaranteed all deposits at banks operating in the UAE. He also said the ministry of finance injected Dh70 billion ($19.1 billion) into national banks. He also said the central bank established a dirham
