QE working, but growth levels to remain anaemic: Bank

The Bank of England on Wednesday clarified its stance on the success of quantitative easing, saying that the policy was having the desired effect.

Recent speeches by Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) members have seen officials present mixed views on whether the Bank's asset purchases could be deemed successful.

But in its quarterly Inflation Report the Bank appeared more confident, proclaiming that the programme, which has seen the MPC pledge to buy £200 billion-worth of assets, was boosting
