Ghana appoints former finance deputy to replace Acquah

Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, a former deputy finance minister, is to replace Paul Acquah at the helm of the Bank of Ghana.

He is held in high regard by the central banking community and has overseen the stabilisation of prices in the West African country. However, at 20.5% in the year to July, inflation is now at a five-year high.
