NY Fed’s Dudley says too premature to set exit date
Bill Dudley, the president of the New York Federal Reserve, said on Wednesday that the likelihood of a lacklustre recovery had made any talk of the timing of an exit from the Fed's extraordinarily accommodative monetary policy premature.
Dudley told an audience in New York: "If the recovery does turn out to be lacklustre, the unemployment rate is likely to remain elevated and capacity utilisation rates unusually low for some time to come. This suggests that inflation will be quiescent."
