Cleveland's Pianalto: Our future in manufacturing

In the speech 'Our future in manufacturing' given on 16 June, Sandra Pianalto of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland said the fundamentals of the US economy are strong and the expansion should continue.

"We still see a few unusual trends in this expansion: namely weak employment growth, strong productivity growth and higher energy prices," Pianalto said in the text of a speech for delivery to a manufacturing conference.

"But the underlying fundamentals are strong nationwide -- low interest rates
