ECB Monthly Bulletin, April 2005

The European Central Bank published its April 2005 Monthly Bulletin on Thursday 14 April, saying there are "no clear signs" that economic growth in the twelve nation euro zone is set to accelerate as record oil prices weigh on business conditions.

Recent reports ``point to ongoing economic growth at a moderate pace over the short term, with no clear signs as yet of a strengthening in underlying dynamics,'' the ECB said in its monthly report. ``Persistently high oil prices in particular pose
