ECB sells 30 tonnes of gold

The European Central Bank (ECB) sold 30 tonnes of gold on 30 June.

"These sales are in full conformity with the Central Banks' Gold Agreement, dated 27 September 2004, of which the ECB is a signatory," the central bank said. "It is not the ECB's intention to sell more gold in the current year of the agreement."

The Central Banks' Gold Agreement allows the signatories, 15 central banks, to sell 500 tonnes of gold per year.

The central bank also sold 42 tonnes of the precious metal on 30 November
