Chile keeps rates at six-year high

The Central Bank of Chile held rates at 6.25% for the second month in a row.

The central bank's monetary policy interest rate remains at its highest level since January 2002.

Annual core inflation is still substantially above the central bank's 3% target at 7% for the year to February and was expected to increase further in the coming months. However, the monthly figure had ceased to rise and the annual measure was expected to fall from June onwards. Inflation still looked likely to fall back to
