Comments on Basel II

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has published on the BIS website the comments received on the latest version of the long-awaited new capital rules. Many of the comments come from central banks and banking supervision agencies worried about the impact of the new rules.

The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago complains that Basel II will leave them and other developing countries "between a rock and a hard place". They argue that they will face many technical difficulties implementing
