Riksbank deputy discusses monetary policy

Barbro Wickman-Parak, the deputy governor of the Riksbank, gave her views on June's rate rise at a meeting held at the Stockholm office of Swedbank, a commercial bank.

Wickman-Parak supported the quarter-point hike, which raised the repo rate 3.5%: "I saw the decision to raise the interest rate as a natural progression; several years of high growth have pushed up resource utilisation and cost pressures have increased."
