Basel II will strengthen US markets: Kroszner

Basel II's introduction will enhance financial stability in the United States, says Randall Kroszner, the governor responsible for regulation at the Federal Reserve.

"Since the Basel II regime is far superior to the current Basel I regime in aligning regulatory capital requirements with risk and fostering continual improvements in risk management for our largest and most complex banking organisations, I believe it will contribute to a more resilient financial system as a whole," Kroszner said on
