Bank of Japan Monthly Report, April 2004

The Bank of Japan published its April 2004 Monthly Report of Recent Economic and Financial Developments on 13 April. In the report the BOJ said that the prospects for a sustained economic recovery remained bright.

The BOJ upgraded its assessment of the economy, citing a pick-up in domestic demand and a growing view that recovery is taking firmer hold. 'Japan's economy continues to recover gradually and domestic demand is becoming firmer,' the central bank said in its monthly report for April.
