RBA's Macfarlane awarded top Australia Day honour

Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia Ian Macfarlane was awarded Australia's highest honour this week in a list published each year on Australia Day.

Macfarlane was made a Companion in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AC).

The 57-year old RBA chief was honoured "for service to the stabilisation of the Australian financial system, to central banking, and to the operation of monetary and economic policy both in domestic and international spheres."
