Mishkin says he will stick to Fed's goals

Federal Reserve nominee Frederic Mishkin told a hearing on Wednesday 12 July that he would keep faith with the Fed's responsibilities for ensuring price stability, full employment and a stable financial system.

"If confirmed by the Senate, working with (Fed) Chairman (Ben) Bernanke and my fellow board members, I will do my utmost to fulfill these responsibilities," Mishkin said in prepared remarks at a Senate Banking Committee hearing on his nomination to be a member of the central bank's board.
