Fed's Bies on Basel II

In testimony 'Basel II' given on 26 September Susan Schmidt Bies of the Federal Reserve said that the Fed supports Basel II because it will help preserve the safety and soundness of the U.S. banking system.

"The Federal Reserve's commitment to the Basel II process remains strong as ever, even as we recognize that the proposals remain subject to further comment and that there is likely much more work to be done," Bies said in her testimony.
