Sweden leaves rate unchanged

The Swedish central bank left the repo rate unchanged at two percent at its meeting on Thursday 19 August. The decision to keep the interest rate at the record low for the fifth consecutive month came despite recent reports of higher than anticipated GDP growth and inflationary pressure.

Inflation remained low in July according to the central bank's statement, with CPI at 0.7 percent and the Riksbank's preferred underlying inflation measure of UND1X at 1.1 percent. Projections show inflation
