Polish ministers ease stance on bank challenge

POLAND - Poland's government appeared to be edging away from a potentially damaging legal challenge to the central bank after a meeting yesterday.

The leftwing cabinet of Leszek Miller, the prime minister, has been pressing the bank to cut lending rates to boost Poland's stagnating economy and weaken the zloty, which has been moving higher recently.
