RBI's Reddy sees better than expected growth

Reserve Bank of India Governor YV Reddy said on Thursday 12 February that he expects Asia's third-largest economy to grow strongly this year and next.

"India should continue next year as one of the countries which will contribute significantly to world output growth," Reddy said in Patna, where RBI board officials are holding their monthly meeting.

"At this point, we certainly note the growth prospects seem to be on an upward bias compared to what we had estimated," the 62-year old Governor said.
