Fiji's Reddy calls on banks to offer microfinance
There is no reason why all banks cannot provide microfinance, said Sada Reddy, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
Reddy said that what needed to be changed was the mindset of banks. He said that Fiji was a developing country with a large number of people in rural areas that needed to benefit from credit.
He said that from January 2010, all banks in Fiji will have microfinance units in each of their branches and that the central bank will set up a microfinance research and development
