Sweden's Nyberg on EU crisis coordination

Voluntary agreements for crisis management in the European Union have not proved helpful, said Lars Nyberg, a deputy governor of the Riksbank.

Speaking at a conference hosted by the Central Bank of Chile, Nyberg said that concrete and binding arrangements were needed in order to achieve better preparedness and coordinated crisis responses in the future.

"Luckily, this time policymakers around Europe eventually realised that a coordinated crisis response was a necessity," said the deputy governor
