EU: Wim mimics Alan, but ECB still far from fed

ARTICLE - European Central Bank president Wim Duisenberg is giving the impression he wants the same level of powerful influence over monetary policy as his counterpart at the Federal Reserve.

But U.S. strategists warn this doesn't mean the ECB is suddenly going to start acting more like the Fed, or Duisenberg like its chairman, Alan Greenspan.
