ECB confirms council meeting Thursday as planned

GERMANY - The European Central Bank confirmed on Wednesday 12 Sep that its policymaking Governing Council will meet as planned here on Thursday for its regular fortnightly policy review.

The bank earlier said its Frankfurt Eurotower headquarters were open as usual despite a warning from the state government that all skyscrapers in Frankfurt should stay closed following terror attacks in the United States.

"The governing council meeting will take place as planned," an ECB spokesman said.
