Zimbabwe prints Z$500m note

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe said on Thursday it will circulate a note worth Z$500m ($2,44).

This fresh attempt to control hyperinflation comes less than a week after the central bank introduced a bill worth Z$250m ($1.22).

The central bank will also circulate agricultural cheques to farmers worth Z$5 billion ($24), Z$25 billion ($122) and Z$50 billion ($244).

The value of the currency has plummeted following the relaxation of exchange-rate rules from Z$30,000 against the greenback to Z$204m.
