Kuwait mulls stricter anti-money laundering laws

The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) will impose stricter anti-money laundering regulations to protect investments in this Islamic Gulf state, Kuwait-based newspaper Arab Times reported on Sunday 15 October.

CBK Governor Sheikh Salem Abdul Aziz al-Sabah made the remark in an interview with a Kuwaiti Audit Bureau's magazine al-Raqaba recently, said the paper.

Sheikh Salem was quoted as saying that CBK has issued a directive to all Kuwaiti banking and financial firms, asking them to verify the identity
