Eurozone inflation remains above 2.0pc

Provisional figures for eurozone inflation released Tuesday 30 September showed that the rate remained above the ECB's target at 2.1%. Ireland had the highest rate of inflation in August, at 3.9pc, followed by Greece and Spain on 3.3pc and 3.1pc, respectively.

Inflation in the eurozone remained above 2.0pc in September, according to provisional figures from the EU today.

In its flash estimate for the month, statistics office Eurostat said the harmonised index of consumer prices
