BoE's Blanchflower approved by committee

The parliamentary Treasury Select Committee endorsed on Tuesday 30 May David Blanchflower's appointment to the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee.

"We are satisfied that Professor Blanchflower fulfils our criteria for appointment of personal independence and professional competence," said the committee's report of a hearing conducted last week.
