Brazilian cb monetary policy head resigns
Central bank president Henrique Meirelles named Mario Gomes Toros, a fund manager and a former vice president at Banco Santander Brasil SA, a unit of Santander Central Hispano SA, as Azevedo's replacement, according to the bank.
Azevedo was appointed to his post in July 2004.
