Concerns over euro increasing, says poll

EUROPE - Readiness for the advent of euro notes and coins is increasing across the eurozone, but so are concerns about the new currency, according to a survey published by the European Commission yesterday Monday 24 September.

The Eurobarometer survey of 6,524 people from the 12 participating countries showed that only 8 per cent of citizens did not know that January 1 was the scheduled date for the introduction of notes and coins, compared with 46 per cent last year.
