RBA keeps interest rates unchanged at 4.75%

The Reserve Bank of Australia keep interest rates unchanged on Wednesday for the 14th month running. RBA governor Ian Macfarlane said in June he was prepared to lower interest rates unless global demand recovers.

Australia's central bank kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged and may not cut rates this year because borrowing and consumer spending are surging at the same time the U.S. economy is showing signs of recovery.
