Bank of England Inflation Attitudes Survey, May 05

The Bank of England published its May 2005 Inflation Attitudes Survey on 20 June. 62% of respondents thought the inflation target was 'about right', the highest response rate for this question since the survey began.

51% of respondents recognised that interest rates had risen over the past 12 months, compared with 58% in February 2005, 64% in November 2004 and 70% in August. Some 8% of respondents thought interest rates had fallen over the past year.
