Fed’s Dudley discusses unwinding of balance sheet
Should reinvestment end “abruptly”, financial conditions would tighten, New York Fed president says
The president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has said the US central bank will need to “taper reinvestment gradually and predictably” when unwinding its balance sheet.
Speaking in Florida on March 30, William Dudley spoke about the importance of financial conditions when conducting monetary policy, saying it was important not to overreact to every “short-term wiggle” in financial markets.
