Norges Bank holds rates over Covid-19 fears
Norwegian central bank expects rates to remain unchanged over the next two years
Norges Bank’s monetary policy committee (MPC) voted unanimously to maintain interest rates at 0% at its policy meeting today (September 24).
The Norwegian central bank’s MPC released a policy statement saying rates are expected to remain at this level “over the next couple of years, followed by a gradual rise as activity approaches a more normal level”.
The statement said that though Norway’s economy resumed growth in the summer, and unemployment declined, an increase in Covid-19 infection
