Sveriges Riksbank may need to tighten policy earlier than previously thought due to rising inflation, deputy governor Anna Breman said in a speech today (March 23).

“As things look now, it is reasonable to bring forward an increase in the policy rate,” said Breman. “But we can also wind down our bond purchases more quickly. In order to determine appropriate monetary policy, we need to consider various factors that affect inflation in the medium term: the labour market, growth and inflation
