Brazil’s inflation fell below target in November

Decline comes despite recent fall in currency’s value and turmoil over fuel prices

Inflation in Brazil declined below the central bank’s target in November after two months above it, say official statistics published on December 7.

Year-on-year inflation was recorded at 4% last month, down from 4.6% in October. The Central Bank of Brazil target is 4.5% for 2018. Brazil’s year-on-year inflation increased in June to 4.4% from 2.9% the previous month, following volatility in Brazil’s exchange rates and a nationwide strike against fuel price rises in May.
