Bank of England minutes reveal 'variety of views' on monetary policy path

For 'some members' the monetary policy decision is becoming 'more balanced'

Uncertainty about the impact on the economy of a rise in interest rates reinforces the case for moving "gradually and cautiously", the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) notes in minutes from its May meeting.

But the minutes, published today, also reveal a "variety of views on the appropriate path of monetary policy" and that "for some members the monetary policy decision was becoming more balanced".

The MPC notes "relatively little significant news on the domestic economy", but
