BoJ will need ‘aggressive' re-capitalisation at end of QQE, top economist warns

Nomura's chief Japan economist Tomo Kinoshita today said the government may need to re-capitalise the country's central bank to prepare it for an end to quantitative easing in the country.

Speaking at a media briefing in Hong Kong earlier today, Kinoshita said the current practice of the Bank of Japan (BoJ) handing over the profits on its market positions to the government must end, in order to shore up the bank's equity ratio.
