Iran's c bank chief dismisses embezzlement claims

IRAN - Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has dismissed as "untrue" certain reports on embezzlement at CBI and said the claims are unfortunately raised by those who are unfamiliar with banking affairs.

Nourbakhsh, who was in Majlis for debates on check law amendment bill, told reporters that a report has been prepared on embezzlement cases in 1991 to 2000 during which embezzlement cases in Iranian banking system stood even less than half per thousand.
